Network Administrator
This person will ensure the smooth running and upkeep of the Media Centre's IT infrastructure as part of the International IT team. The person will be responsible for the installation and configuration of computers, servers and network systems in accordance with International IT policies. Additionally, the person will provide support to users on a variety of software and OS-related issues. It is also expected that the IT Network Administrator will be able to contribute to AWM Media's new media project, for example, in the areas of our content management system (Joomla!), as well as in the areas of site statistics, web development, site optimization, emerging new media technologies, etc.
Preferred qualifications / experience / personal qualities:
- Knowledge and experience of computer hardware, operating systems and applications such as Windows XP & Vista, Linux, Network Systems, Microsoft Office, HTML/CSS and PHP/MySQL. Experience with content management systems would also be an advantage.
- Since the position involves constant interaction with other members of the team, he/she should also have good interpersonal skills and a willingness to serve others.
- Some knowledge of French would be an advantage.
Length of commitment required: An initial commitment of two years with a view to long-term commitment.
