Core Values

1. We are dependent. We prayerfully depend on God, trusting in the sufficiency of His Word and the power of His Spirit for fruitfulness in ministry and our very lives.

2. We are evangelical. We hold to the historic Biblical faith. We submit and adhere to the Gospel of grace as revealed in the Scriptures.

3. We are committed to the Arab world. Since our founding in 1881 we have been focused on extending God’s church among the peoples of this region.

4. We are engaged globally. We work in strategic locations outside the Arab world to bring Christ to Arab world Muslims and equip Christians to reach Muslims in their communities.

5. We are international. We celebrate the diversity of people from around the world who are on our teams and partnering with us in ministry.

6. We are church focused. We are sent by the church to establish the church. We work together with churches across denominational lines, both at home and abroad. It is our particular joy to work alongside both old and new churches of the Arab world.

7. We are innovative. We embrace a range of word and deed ministry models such as creative tentmaking, state of the art media, customized training, and transformational development as we evangelize, disciple, and plant churches.

8. We are culturally sensitive. We seek to bring the gospel to Arab world Muslims by means of respectful and contextually appropriate identification and communication. For this reason, while we welcome and value short-term ministry, we stress mastery of the local language and long-term ministry.

9. We are interdependent. We work together in teams, valuing leadership, accountability, development and mutual care in order to grow in Christ-likeness and fruitfulness. We work with like-minded agencies, churches and Christians in pursuit of God’s call, convinced that we are more effective when working strategically with others.

10. We are compelled. We set our course to endure obstacles, to walk by faith, and by God’s grace, to consider even our lives expendable because of the excellencies of our great Saviour.
