Dear Friends and Supporters,
Adam House is named in honour and memory of Salah and Shaline Adam, and their two children, Joshua and Rebecca, who went to be with the Lord when Egypt Air Flight 990 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on October 31, 1999. This year marked the 10 year anniversary of their deaths. To find out more, read Adam House from the Ashes.
We reflect on the passing of the Adam Family with sadness and celebration - saddened to know that their earthly lives were cut short, but glad that their legacy of caring for immigrants and refugees, and sharing the good news of Christ, continues through Adam House. We know that they celebrate with us as we see men and women come closer to the Saviour. Men and women like Azad…
Azad is a young man from Iran who does not follow any religion. On November 1st we had the opportunity to give an update at Morningstar Christian Fellowship, interestingly enough, Salah and Shaline’s home church. Several of our residents were invited to attend. Azad gladly accepted. Part of the service was Holy Communion. The pastor gave clear instructions - that only those who believed in Christ as Saviour could participate, even if that day was the day that you first put your trust in Jesus. Azad did participate in Communion! Please pray that he would allow God to continue the work that has begun in him.
Many of you may remember Sebastian from Turkey. He was a resident and then night manager from 2002 to 2004. He was diagnosed with cancer and returned to Turkey to be with his family. He died just a few short weeks later in April 2005. However, he had the opportunity to share Christ with his friends and family back home. Just a few weeks ago a friend of his arrived on the doorstep of Adam House. He was in trouble and needed a place to stay for a few nights. This was an unusual situation, however, we felt compelled to assist because of his friendship with Sebastian. It turned out that the Lord was in this situation. Arno told our night manager he was searching spiritually and they talk late into the night all three nights he stayed at Adam House. He made a decision for Christ during that time and is meeting with our night manager weekly. He will return to Turkey shortly and has asked to be connected to believers there. Yet another example of death generating new life!
Financial Need
By the grace of God, Adam House continues to meet its operational budget. However, there have been several unexpected costs incurred this year. These unexpected costs have included renovations; furnace repairs; maintenance; costs associated with battling bed bugs; and hiring night managers over the summer months, rather than relying on volunteers.
Unfortunately, there continue to be additional projects that we must urgently consider. A new photocopier is needed immediately. There are more renovations and upgrades that must be made to the building itself.; The furnace and boiler servicing the 2nd and 3rd floors need various modifications to increase their capacity; and the furnace servicing the basement and first floor should be replaced to avoid recurring maintenance costs and to save on utilities. The existing furnace is over 30 years old.

Prayer Requests
- Please pray that Azad and Arno would be discipled and grow in faith.
- Pray for Marwa, an Iranian woman living at Adam House. She still identifies herself as Muslim, although she is quite secular. Pray that her heart might open wide to the good news.
- Pray for our new interns from Liebenzell Mission, Germany. Ask that they would be granted strength and good health, and that God would use them to further His Kingdom.
- We are in need of more volunteers for weekend shifts. Please pray that God would raise up workers, and please consider if you or someone you know is available. The weekend shifts do not require special expertise - only to be a responsible and mature person, and to have love for God and His people.
- We have several upcoming events for our residents over the Christmas season. Please pray that the true meaning of the season would be realized and personal to them.
- Pray for our staff as we each take some vacation time in December.
