Christians in Morocco urgently need our prayers

A few days ago, government officials called together the twenty foster parents of the Village of Hope orphanage in Ainh Leuh, Morocco. After searching their homes and questioning parents and foster children the parents and their (biological) children were told to pack up their belongings and leave. The reason behind this sudden expulsion was that the parents were said to be proselytising the children in their care.
The Village of Hope orphanage opened its doors ten years ago to provide care and a loving home for abandoned children who otherwise would have ended up on the streets or in large state-run orphanages. It has always been open about the fact that it is a Christian orphanage and this has not been a problem until now. It is thought that these events - as well as other recent police interest in Christian activity and the recent expulsion of other expatriates in the country - come from the newly appointed Interior and Justice Ministers.
What is most heartbreaking though is what is happening to the children of the Village of Hope. Some of the children have lived at the orphanage for ten years; others have never known another mother or father: all have been told by their parents that they have to leave and may never see them again.
Please pray:
- For the thirty or so children who have suddenly had their lives turned upside down.
- For the foster families, whose hearts have been torn as they have been forced to leave within the space of a few hours.
- That those who made the decision to shut down the Village of Hope orphanage would have a change of heart and be given courage to reverse their decision.
- For all believers in Morocco, who are facing uncertain times.
