The Message of Christmas

Christmas is nearly upon us and it is so easy to get caught up in the madness. Shopping, decorating the tree, writing cards, preparing for the big feast... How often do we get sidetracked by all the ‘activity’ and forget that we are celebrating the birth of God’s one and only Son - and the purpose of His human life!

In Isaiah 9 it is written:

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The message of Christmas brings hope and light into our lives but there are many who have not yet heard about God’s love for them. Let’s pray that the Christmas period will bring many opportunities for the Light of the World to be known, glorified and worshipped ...

Adam House from the Ashes

What good could come from that?

I was numb as I read about the deaths of AWM workers Salah and Shaline Adam, along with their two children Joshua and Rebecca (pictured below). That was 10 years ago.

Salah and Shaline with their children Joshua and RebeccaSalah had been a truth-seeking Muslim from Sudan. He had run competitively in his home country, where his parents and extended family lived. Shaline had ministered with AWM in Algeria for seven years and had returned to Toronto to reach out with the love of Christ to Muslims there.

They met in Toronto in 1990 when Salah began to attend a Bible study for international students, led by Shaline. The Lord drew Salah to himself and Salah began to attend Morningstar Christian Fellowship.

Salah and Shaline began to realize that they were attracted to each other. After a year of seeking ‘peaceful assurance’, they were married in 1993. The births of their children ...

Faint Beginnings... Far-reaching Consequences

Here’s an example of one of the 800 or so Arabic-speaking people who made contact with us last month after visiting the website.

I am a young Muslim and I want you to explain to me the Christian faith. Please let this be a secret between us. (Shokri*, Algeria)

Looking back over these 50 years, we see that much has changed. We have seen the advent of Christian satellite television, a revolution caused by the Internet, followed by the birth of new media.  Yet, while the medium of communication has evolved, our message has stayed the same. Media, for us, is a means to an end. Our desire and passion is to see Muslims find new life in Christ and grow in His likeness.

Two testimonies come to mind that reflect on the Media ministry. One is the testimony of a man from Tunisia who has been corresponding ...
